MY BLAZON

Who am I, where I come from and where I am heading to, it's all there. It may seems at first that I have put everything and anything but take a deeper look and you will realize this isn't copy-paste from a website list. These are carefully chosen values, talents, limits, goals and Inspirations that make me who I am. Scroll down and zoom in each sections to find more content.

MY BLAZON DETAILED

FOUNDATIONS AND ASPIRATION

Foundations are the starting point. What my parents taught me. Consciously or unconsciously. You will note that I am not hiding negatives aspect of it. This is what makes me, for better or worse.
Aspiration is where I am going. At 47, I am now able to say that I am living not for the money, not for the fame, not for the career...but for genuine bliss. I appreciate it may not sound "professional" or "American" but hey, this is why you came here right? To get to know me.

VALUES

To be honest, values have never been my drivers...until I turned 45. I never really thought about them and when I did, I would come with vagues ideas and concepts that would hardly been considered as values. It is only when I became an expatriate in other country, without a job, taking care of the family, that I was able to reflect on my life, raise my self-awareness and realize what my values were and how their presence -or absence- had influenced my life. When you understand what your values are, it gives you a kind of compass, of security to navigate confidently though life. My values are not really business-oriented...or are they? You won't find "competitiveness" or "Excellence" or even "Integrity". But if you apply them in business, you end up with engagement and success. I have heard so many times companies displaying values without standing to it. It was just window dressing. Just for shareholders. My values may not be fancy, but they are true to me.

TALENTS

Yeah I have a lot of talents! Like all of us in fact. Compared to the number of my limits, this huge list can seem to come from a boasting bragging individual. Yet I am not a self confident person. But that doesn't mean I am doubtful about my strengths. I will not explain all items in the list. Let's meet and I will go through whatever you want to know! Here I will post a picture of the delicious bread I make to illustrate "Cooking". to reach other stuff a link to "The Human Element" workshop which is the best personal development workshop on earth (according to me). If you want to meet your true you, go there. And I will play you a little song to show you how good guitarist I am. Well... in reality I am not so good but it's good enough to enjoy guitar nights with friends!

INSPIRATION

I love Mark Twain quotes. This one I always loved, because I found it was kind of cool. But I figured it was actually applicable to my personal life. I have met so many people who are afraid of traveling or changing their habits. Fear is the powerful driver behind the "it's impossible". My wife and I have fears. But we are not afraid to state them. We are not afraid of our weaknesses. And so we do not try to pretend things are impossible just because we fear them. We are very confident of what the outcomes of anything new would be. That's why I quit my job, which was a very interesting, high-profile, well paid job, to come and live the expat adventure in the US.  Last week, we and our 3 kids, including a 2 year-old, camped in Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Park with winds and temperature below 32°F. It was cold and we hardly slept. But we experienced a family bond that inspired and enlightened us throughout the week. We wouldn't have had this bond should have we considered it was impossible to camp and chosen a classic accommodation.
The second sentence reminds me of one of my ex-boss. Very energetic, dynamic and enthusiastic - which I envied- but not strategic, thoughtful and visionary at all - qualities that she begrudged from me.

STAKES

4 stakes so BIG that I would need 4 full website to discuss them. First one lies into a criticism of the economy globalization . Give people dignity and you will end populism (do not freak out : I never talk politics in business unless you really want to...)

I have already discussed the second one in the talents section

See "the big hack" and read this article for the 3rd one

And for the 4rth it is sooo obvious. Serge Tisseron's 3-6-9-12 rule about children and screens has been a simple and useful compass in the education of our 3 kids. And there has not been 1 second of regret so far (15, 11 and 2). Have they been ostracized? nope. Unable to catch up with technology? nope. Able to write, read, speak (fluent in French and English), focus, enjoy life, reflect, differentiate right from wrong and fake from truth? YES!!

LIMITS

Significance and control are my 2 insecurities. It is almost impossible to get rid of the negative behaviors resulting of the triggering of my underlying fears.  But with all the work I have done on my self awareness. I can see the path to unlock more potential. I, more and more, catch myself adopting a coping behavior and I am able to correct it in a better direction for me.

Laziness is bad. That's the only thing here really I would like not to have. It took me long and cost me a lot to write that down so please do not leave the site because of this. If I am given purpose, I get excited. If I'm excited, I am never lazy. Check this out!
